Spinal Decompression Marketing: How to Get More Decompression Patients
October 29, 2026 · 6 min read
Spinal decompression is a high-value, cash-pay service that many practices underuse. The table is there, the patients who could benefit are out there, but the schedule isn't full. The gap is almost always marketing and follow-up.
Who you're actually marketing to
Decompression patients usually have long-term back or neck pain, sciatica or disc-related pain. Many have tried medication, injections or physical therapy and are looking for a non-surgical option. They're skeptical, they've been disappointed before and they want to understand what they're signing up for.
Advertise the problem, then the option
Run campaigns around the conditions: chronic low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, disc pain. Introduce decompression as one non-surgical option your practice offers, and explain what a session looks like. Short videos of the table in use, with the doctor explaining it, work far better than stock images.
Stay honest and within the rules
Decompression has a long history of over-the-top advertising, and regulators and ad platforms have noticed. Skip success rates, cure claims and “fix your disc” promises. Talk about who it may help, what the process involves and how the consultation works. Honest ads get approved, build trust and attract better patients.
Make the first step a consultation
Nobody buys a decompression package from an ad. The goal of the ad is a consultation where you can evaluate the patient and explain the plan. Be clear about what happens at that visit and whether there's a cost.
Call every lead within minutes
Decompression leads have questions, and the practice that answers them first usually wins. A real person calling within minutes, qualifying the patient and booking the consultation will outperform any email sequence. Then confirm and remind before the visit. More on that in why most clinic leads never book.
Measure consultations and packages, not clicks
Track cost per booked consultation, show-up rate and how many consultations become decompression patients. Those numbers tell you whether marketing is working.
